Holi, also known as Basant utsav or Dol purnima in state of west Bengal, is a festival that is enthusiastically observed as "Bosonto utshob" in Shantiniketan. Rabindra Nath Tegar, a nobel winner established the traditional of celebrating the spring festival or Basanta utsav at Biswa Bharati University .The festival take place a day before Holi, and they are today regarded as a significant aspects of Bengali heritage. 

Every year, visitors from all over the world come to Santiniketan to observe and partake in the celebrations, which is contrast to the rest of the country , are exquisite and magnificent. To welcome spring with colourful displays, children also sing songs and dance elegantly to Tagore 's song , Rabindra sangeet and Rabindra nritya, which end up being the events main attractions.
