Today’s world is hopeless, disillusioned and worn-torn. People are grieving because of the plight of humanity and due to the existential crisis. This war has given people the reflection on the society in which we live where one capitalist group wants to subdue another capitalist class. And this has led to war causing misery and destruction throughout the world. But now the war has become the means of business for the big corporates.

As Lenin had said, “Imperialism is the highest form of capitalism” and capitalism is growing alongside the war as its mean. The big companies are earning through this war as their business means and also hurting the common people with their new devised plan of money-making.

Recently, in the news House of Democrats had questioned the big Oil companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Shell, about the rising gas prices and profiteering from the Ukraine war. Svitlana Romanko, the Ukrainian environmental lawyer, talks about the war is impacting the energy markets around the world.

She says, “these are predatory companies that used excuse- and this one of the grossest- to try to increase their profit margins”. Further, she adds that “dismantling and ending Putin’s horrific war against Ukraine will dismantle the system which enables this fossil fuel industry to over profit”.

The high charging price of oil and gas companies was accused of charging to consumers even after they make higher profits. Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee accused fossil fuel executives of exploiting the pandemic and war in Ukraine for making profits through them. The prices of oil are going down but the prices of pump lines still remain high. If the problem is with demand and supply, wouldn’t that reflect in the global price of oil, as well? This is something that is just not making any meaning. Ukraine-Russia has become very crucial in a decision-making point.

The only purpose of these big companies is to fill their pockets with profits at the cost of whatever it takes. The US has changed the rhythm and flow of the world by changing everything in their possession, from climate change to wars everything has changed.

Ending of Putin’s barbaric war against Ukraine, the system will be dismantled which will enable the fossil fuel industry to stop over profiting on human and infrastructure destruction. Lenin had said that, “great powers for the artificial preservation of capitalism by means of colonies, monopolies, privileges and national oppression of every kind”. This is very evident from the war which is nothing but continuation of capitalism in its oxygen mask breathing its last breathe to live a little longer and the war is mirror of this.
