  • 2022 World Cup Japan rallies past Spain as both sides reach the round of 16

Japan crushed the first-half deficiency to overcome Spain 2- 1 and move on to the World Cup round of 16 by scoring doubly beforehand in the second half.

At the Al Khalifa International Stadium on Thursday, Spain's Alvaro Morata scored the game's opening goal in the eleventh minute. Still, Japan fought back after the break. The Spanish striker headed in a cross from the loftiest point on the field for his third goal of the competition.

Many twinkles after coming on as a halftime cover, Ritsu Doan evened with a left-footed shot from outside the box in the 48th minute. Shortly after that, Ao Tanaka added the alternate goal from close range.

Tanaka's goal was first disallowed because Kaoru Mitoma's cut-reverse was supposed to have passed before the ball had officially left the field of play, but VAR reversed the ruling and gave Japan the three points they needed to guarantee their place in the knockout stages.

As time ran down, Japan appeared secure until Germany defeated Costa Rica 4-2. The Japanese could have dropped from first to third in the group if a late Spanish thing had been scored. still, the Blue Samurai was suitable to hold out against swells of Spanish assaults. Germany was excluded despite a 4- 2 palm over Costa Rica on Thursday. Japan finished first in Group E, followed by Spain on thing differential. In both games' last twinkles, all four brigades had a chance to qualify, making it a dramatic conclusion for the group.

Japan, who has never advanced past the first knockout round, will play Croatia in the round of 16 coming weeks.

  • Four-time world champion Vettel announced his retirement

Sebastian Vettel, four-time Formula One champion and the youngest driver to win a championship, declared his retirement Thursday. He will quit the sport at the end of the 2022 season. His contract with Aston Martin will conclude in that time also.

An amazing fact is - Vettel did not use social media platforms this long! Although he finally opened an account on Instagram recently. But on the day he opened, he announced his retirement from that account! Just before the Hungarian Grand Prix, the four-time Formula One world champion German driver spoke that the 15th season is going to be the last of his career.

Vettel has been with Aston Martin since 2001, his contract was about the end of this year. He has celebrated a podium with this franchise team. Anyways he started his career in F1 with BMW Sauber back in 2007. But the best time has spent in his career was with Red Bull.

Vettel won four consecutive world championships for Red Bull from 2010 to 2013. Then he joined Ferrari in 2015 from Red Bull. However, despite six years of racing for the famous Italian team, he failed to win the title of the fifth world champion.

Vettel, however, is saying goodbye as one of the most successful drivers in Formula One history. He is a joint-fourth-time winner with Alain Prost in terms of world championship wins. Above Vettel are Juan Manuel Fangio (5), his boyhood hero Michael Schumacher (7) and Lewis Hamilton (7).

Regarding what to do after retirement, Vettel said, The decision was difficult, I thought about it a lot. But what to do next, I want to look back at the end of the year. But this is clear, as a father I want to spend more time with my family.
