"CINDERELLA" AT LICHFIELD GARRICK
The last time that I attended a pantomime was in Belfast in the 1990's with my then small daughter and I was looking forward very much to my return to the panto at the Press Night in the Garrick. Unfortunately, my car broke down on the day, but thankfully, kind friends had a spare ticket for another evening and I was able to enjoy the fun of the occasion. The Garrick's pantomimes have a wide reputation for their quality and this was certainly an entertaining one. Being the Saturday evening before Christmas, the theatre was well filled and as expected, the audience entered into the spirit of the occasion. This production had all that should be in a good pantomime. Plenty of humour, enjoyable songs and interaction with the audience. Each of the characters performed their part well and there was an obvious onstage chemistry. I left, wondering why it had been almost 30 years since I last attended a pantomime and I look forward in anticipation to next Christmas at the Garrick. Congratulations to all concerned for a very enjoyable evening in the build up to Christmas .
