One of the things that I look forward to at this time of the year, is the annual visit to this exciting event which effectively combines three shows in one. Each year, Halls 17-20 at the N.E.C. are packed with amazing cakes, delightful crafts and all sorts of tempting goodies to be purchased. I will hold up my hands immediately and admit that I am no expert on either baking or crafting and so it is always a pleasure to be able to bring my wife, who is an excellent baker and a skilled crafter to assist me in preparing my review. 

One thing which always strikes me when I attend this event, is the number of people from so many different places who are talented in these fields and take the opportunity to put their creations on display for the rest of us to enjoy.  An interesting aspect for us this year was the opportunity to attend on the Friday and to see the judges in action. The only problem was that we couldn't get as close to the cakes as normal, but we still had a good view of them and it didn't take away from the opportunity to appreciate.

The event is well organised and well run and deservedly, attracts a large number of visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and thanks as ever to Mia at OneVoice Media for organising things for us. It was great to meet in person, after years of communicating by email and telephone. We are already looking forward to next year and long may this continue to be a successful and well supported fixture in the N.E.C. calendar.
