Joe Biden, the president of the United States, said at the COP27 meeting on Friday that in order to slow global warming, everyone must “step up” and reduce carbon emissions.

At the COP27 UN climate conference on Friday, November 11, US President Joe Biden pledged that the country was on pace to reduce its carbon emissions. He asked all countries to step up their own efforts to prevent catastrophic global warming. As an example for the entire world. Mr. Biden hailed the approval of a $369 billion spending package to green the American economy.

While US expenditure on its own renewable energy drive has been lauded by campaigners, Washington has come under fire. And these happened for not keeping its promises to provide financial aid to other countries to aid in their own transitions. Also to deal with climate change-related catastrophes that are becoming more severe.

The U.S. President also emphasized to the COP27 summit that it is now more important than ever to uphold climate agreements. And he urged all nations to support the goal of keeping global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

He claimed that “Russia’s war just highlights how urgent it is for the world to move away from its reliance on fossil fuels.”

Climate catastrophe threatens the “life of the world,” according to Biden

Mr. Biden assured the COP27 conference that the United States is on track to reduce carbon emissions. Also stated that the “very life of the earth” is at stake in the climate catastrophe.

Mr. Biden told the gathering in the Egyptian beachside resort of Sharm el-Sheikh about the issues. He said that the climate problem was about “human security, economic security, environmental security, national security, and the very survival of the planet.”

According to Mr. Biden, the United States is “on track” to fulfill its commitment to reduce emissions by 50–52% below 2005 levels by 2030. He declared, “The United States will achieve our emissions targets.”
