Why the American Civil War took place...

After decades of tension between the northern and southern states over slavery, state rights, and westward expansion, civil war broke out in the United States on April 12, 1861.

The Civil War also known as the war between the United States ended on April 9, 1865, with the Confederate surrender. The United States Civil War was fought between the United States of America and the Confederate United States, a collection of eleven southern states that left the Union in 1860 and 1861.

The conflict originally began as a result of a long-running disagreement with the organization over slavery.

The first and primary reason was economic interest.

The southern states wanted to impose their authority on the federal government so that they could repeal federal laws that they did not support, especially since the law was interfering with the southern slave rights and would take them wherever it wished.

There were many political and cultural differences between the North and the South that contributed to the American Civil War, the cause of the war was slavery. A general explanation was the civil war over the moral issue of slavery.

It was the slavery of that system and the economy of political control that was at the center of the conflict. A key issue was state rights. So, Economic interest is the primary issue for this war.

The second reason was cultural values like Different social cultures and political beliefs develop. All of this led to disagreements over issues such as taxes, duties, and internal development, as well as state rights against federal rights. Two important, famous, documented battles resulted in the defeat of the Confederates: the Battle of Gettysburg, July 3-8, and the Falls of Vicksburg, July 4.

The culture of civil war in America - both north and south - was different from life in the Antebellum years. When the war began to drag on, the soldier's life ranged from inferior clothing and equipment to just edible and usually inadequate rations to regular patience and deprivation.

The third reason was the power of the federal government to control the state's so-called slavery in American society. Agriculture South used slaves to carry out its large plantations and other duties.

About 4 million Africans and their descendants worked as slave laborers in the South before the Civil War. Slavery was inherent in the southern economy even though a relatively small portion of the population owned slaves.

Ownership of a handful of slaves respects ownership and contributes to social status, and slaves, as the property of individuals and businesses, represent the largest share of personal and corporate wealth in the region.

The war effectively ended on April 9, 1865, when Confederate General Lee surrendered to Union General Grant at the Court of Apothecary after leaving Petersburg. At the end of the war, most of the infrastructure in the south was destroyed, especially its railways.

The war-torn nation then entered an era of reconstruction with partially successful attempts to restructure the country and grant civil rights to free slaves.
