Working Mechanism 

The valve works by raising or lowering the gate to manage the flow of the media. As the handwheel or actuator is rotated, the blade is driven vertically by the stem. The gate is lifted completely out of the flow path while in the open position. The blade cuts through the media and rests tightly on the seat when in the closed position, preventing flow entirely.
