Turky being the member of the NATO has criticized that the West is following a “provocative-based policy” towards Moscow. He further added that West collectively has been underestimating Russia and pursuing policies intended to provoke Moscow. He spoke with reporters after meeting with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksander Vucic, in Belgrade, as part of Balkan tour to promote Ankara’s regional diplomacy. He has claimed that he doesn’t find the “attitude of the West [towards Russia] right.” Because he feels that “West follows provocation policy”.
Meanwhile, Ankara has been pursuing a more “balanced policy” that has produced results such as the grain export arrangement signed in late July. The Turkish leader has noted that Ankara continues to do business with both Russia and Ukraine, which displeasures EU. The Turkish president has also commented on the arms and ammunition send to Ukraine by the West as “leftovers”. He further added, “I say to those who underestimate Russia, you are doing it wrong. Russia is not a country that can be underestimated”.
Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement Minsk agreements. Which was initially designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within Ukraine state. Former Ukrainian president Pyotr Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces”. Erdogan said in Belgrade that, “there are no winners in a war like this, but I think there are a great many losers. People are losing their lives, and there is also the financial cost”.
Unfortunately, this war has not seen any face of hope and only there is no end to this war. War is draining the economy of both Russia and Ukraine, also people have been devasted and traumatized by this war. Albert Einstein said, “you cannot prepare for war and peace at the same time”. War and peace are in conflict with each other in this 21st century, but the age only give us disillusionement and fragmentation of the world as looked through the glasses which is worn by the people. West have been biased and created provocation against Russia. This war needs to stop with diplomacy and not with weaponry.
