Trade Unionists and campaigners are set to descend on Manchester tomorrow to protest over the soaring cost of living. Voting reveals massive public support for inflation-busting pay rises and wealth taxes. Tomorrow’s sold-out rally, kicks off in Manchester Cathedral at 7pm. This is the second time a campaign has been organized with “Enough is Enough” as their motto.

The rapidly growing initiative, which held a launch rally in London earlier this month, has seen campaigners from unions and community organizations. They come together in demand of “real pay rise, the slashing of energy bills, the ending of food poverty, decent homes for all and taxes on the rich”. This campaign has been organized because of the toxic mix of plummeting take-home pay, and soaring inflation which has pushed families on the brink of financial oblivion.

More than 450,000 people have signed the petition which is backed by RMT and the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Further events are set to follow in Liverpool on Friday, and in Norwich, Glasgow, Bristol, Brighton, and Leeds later in September. While there is to be a national day of action planning on October 1.
