The Democratic Party’s corporate wing wants the existing leadership to stay in power by convincing them to shut down the progressive strategies like “Medicine for All.” The Democratic Party has to decide whether they work for the corporate or the people. People also need to think before they choose a leader.
The Fight
The influence of the political action committee (PAC), the Democratic Party, and the oligarchs in the local, as well as national elections, is unparalleled. They involve cryptocurrency, oil money, billionaires, and big corporates. They destroy the fighting spirit among a lot of progressive voices.
If these superpowers did not show up, things could have been different because they systematically target people of colour as if they do care for them. Their involvement in the local races makes it difficult for the people who really care for the community and its people.
The Problem
The involved powerhouses do not bother about the people, the quality of life of those people, and the places they live, work, as well as play in the community. They only care about the victory and how they can buy an election. This situation and practice are problematic for those who still have faith in democracy, as well as for those who are trying to make sure that the voices of people are heard. Unfortunately, it is happening everywhere.
The Worries
According to the reports, in a local election last year, USD 12 million was spent for a Democratic Party’s seat. Politics is nothing but a money-making machine for a lot of people, and because of that a lot of people along with superpowers are showing interest in local elections.
Now there are two different types of political persons: a. working for the people and b. working for the corporates. It’s high time for us to think before we choose our leaders. We need to choose carefully so that our rights are protected by the people we have elected.
