A highlight of the cold January days for me is always my annual visit to the Autosport Show and I was delighted to be back again for the Friday and Saturday of this year's event. As usual, there was a great atmosphere, with a variety of aspects of motorsport involved, along with the performance car and engineering side of things. There were opportunities to hear interviews with personalities from various disciplines and to see some beautiful machinery. This year, there were three favourite highlights for me. First of all, the "75 Years Of Formula 1" exhibition. It was wonderful to see some many amazing cars (associated with iconic names from the sport) from the 1950's right through to the present day. Secondly, motorcycle road racing is my first love and it was fascinating to watch the lap by James Hillier of the Isle Of Man TT , accompanied by an entertaining interview with his friend (and now, team mate) , Dominic Herbertson. Finally, the Live Action Show always provides a spectacle of sight and sound and this year's was no exception, with thrilling entertainment from autograss, rallycross, stock cars, drifting, stunts , freestyle motocross and even, Nascar.
I thoroughly enjoyed Autosport 2025 and it was made even more poignant this year as the Friday took place on the anniversary of the passing of my father, to whom I owe my interest in all forms of motorsport. Thanks as always to James and the team at PitBox 91 (who do an excellent job in media and communications) for organising my visit and I look forward to another great show in 2026.
