Rob Zombie has announced his next film plan which will be an adaptation of The Munsters, the classic supernatural sitcom of the 1960s. 

On June 7 the director confirmed the news. In his past life, he was a metal musician. With full excitement, he wrote the following caption of an Instagram post….

 “The rumors are true!” 

“My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!”

The project will be produced under 1440 Entertainment, a secondary of Universal Pictures which deals primarily with direct-to-video films, and no details about its cast or release date have been announced yet. 

The Munsters is about a family of friendly monsters who transfer from Transylvania to the suburbs of America. From 1964 to 1966 the show ran for just two seasons. Some similar series like Mockingbird Lane, series had been produced, by Hannibal‘s Bryan Fuller.

His bonds with the ’60s sitcom run deep as his breakout 1998 single ‘Dragula’ had taken its name from a car in the show. From 1998 he continued to produce music and feature films. 

In this year 2021, he released his seventh studio album ‘The Lunar Injection Kool-Aid Eclipse Conspiracy’. In 2019 he directed a project with his wife and frequent collaborator Sherri Moon Zombie entitled 3 From Hell.
