Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their second child on Friday, June 4. Meghan has given birth to a baby girl named Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said Sunday.
In a statement read from a spokesperson on behalf of the royal couple that “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the planet,”. The statement has gone on to detail that Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 am at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Meghan is now resting reception together with her newborn daughter.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. The middle name of her, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” the statement further explained.
In February, the royal couple announced that they were expecting a second child back. On Valentine’s Day, they shared their exciting news with the world, revealing Meghan’s pregnancy with a beautiful black-and-white maternity photo. “We can confirm that Archie goes to be an enormous brother,” their announcement read. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to expect their second child.”
Newborn Lili will be joined by big brother Archie, who turned two in May. Lilibet is the couple’s second child. Their first one, Archie is now two years old. The baby is that the eighth in line to the British throne. No photos of the newborn or the Sussexes have attached with the announcement.
