For the families, the cost of food got increased by 2.3 %. And the cost of living is 5.5% more expensive than that of the last year’s price. According to the reports, the prices of shoes and clothes increased by 9.8 %, and the price of fossil fuels by 7.2 %. It is 18% more than last year’s numbers. If compared to last year’s price, fresh milk is 13.2% more expensive. This time it increased by 1.7%.
According to a prediction by the Bank of England, the inflation rate may even get closer to 8% in April due to the newly increased energy price. A lot of households are already suffering from the rising costs.
Reports say that a lot of senior citizens are already living without the heating facilities for about three months. There are even people who are living without water or electricity services. The government is asked to take immediate action to save people from facing financial difficulties.
People are suffering since the beginning of 2022, but the government has done nothing to help the people to meet their basic needs. In a sense, the government failed to ensure that no one is deprived of their basic human rights. An emergency budget can be a practical solution to the cost-of-liming problem.
