Jenny Ryan is best known to us as "The Vixen" from I.T.V's "The Chase" and "Beat The Chasers." Her wide range of knowledge and sharp wit are a challenge to anyone with whom she comes face to face (I speak from personal experience, having been devoured by said Vixen on the "The Chase" in 2022).  In her new show, "Out Of The Box," Jenny takes us into the relaxed atmosphere of her living room (as created on stage) and shares the story of her life and career, with many humorous and also moving anecdotes, interspersed with some of her favourite songs ( For anyone who doesn't know, she is also a highly talented singer). This is followed , in the second half, by a question and answer session, as well as a quiz for members of the audience, hosted by Jenny herself. The show at the Garrick was the opening night of the tour and the contestants in the quiz were Charlotte and myself.  It was a good competition and I am pleased to say that I managed to win and was given a copy of Jenny and Lucy Porter's book on quizzing, "Fingers On Buzzers" as my prize.  At least I was able to regain some face after my experience on "The Chase." 

All joking aside, this is an excellent show and Jenny is accompanied on piano and vocals by well known vocal coach, Eoin Mallon (a fellow Ulsterman), who also acts as her interviewer for questions and answers.  "Out Of The Box" continues at various venues throughout October and makes for a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.
