War, Politics, and Economy

Whether it is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (2022) or the USA’s invasion of Iraq (2003), some developed countries are always involved directly and indirectly: one of the main reasons behind their involvement is that war is a money-making machine.

But under the camouflage of peace, security, research, and development, most developed countries keep spending tons of money to make the war an ongoing phenomenon with a view to continuing war-related businesses.

Among the list of all the developed countries who are or had been involved in the war directly or indirectly, it is the USA who is the most involved, as well as the interested party. For instance, since the Second World War, the USA either used its own forces or funded other forces in more than 50 different countries. And the USA had more than 1000 armed bases all over the world. Their reasoning behind doing all these is nothing but supporting freedom and democracy.

The question is, do they really care about people’s freedom and democratic rights? If they do, then they would have done something to stop Saudi Arabia’s invasion of Yemen. But would not do anything because Saudi Arabia is one of the USA’s businesses interests.

Let’s see some of the countries where war is still an ongoing phenomenon-

Yemen

Since Sep. 2014, the Yemeni Civil War is still going on that has started with the takeover of the control of Sanaa by the Houthis by Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. Interesting both, the Houthis and Hadi claim that they are the official government of Yemen. In 2015, with the help of the USA, Saudi Arabia, in support of Hadi, interfered in the civil war. Sadly, the number suggests that since 2014, there had been more than 140,000 deaths, and in the year 2020, around 20,000 people died.

Ethiopia

Due to the conflict between the political parties in Ethiopia, a fierce civil war is going on since Nov. 2020. Eritrea, one of the neighboring countries of Ethiopia, got involved in the war by sending troops. The violence of civil war has crossed the border of Ethiopia and entered the territories of its neighboring countries like Sudan and Somalia. The name of the ongoing war is ‘Tigray War,’ and the documented number suggests that there had been more than 9,000 casualties by Sep. 2021, but some unofficial sources suggest that there had been more than 50,000 casualties since the war took place.

War is not always about freedom or basic human rights, rather there are a lot of reasons that are always in the favor of the people who control the social, political, and economic aspects of a hegemony.
