This week we are back with some mind refreshing, breathtaking movies that you can watch in your free time. To make your weekend more interesting less boring don’t forget to watch them!
Bergman Island
A heralded new indie, Bergman Island stars Vicky Krieps and Tim Roth as two American filmmakers retreating to the fictional Fårö Island where Bergman lived and shot his most celebrated pieces. Spending the summer there, the filmmakers hope to find inspiration for their upcoming films, but as they spend days separated the fascination with the island leads to diverging inspirations that threaten to tear the couple apart.
Don't Look Up
Adam McKay’s newest political bite takes aim at the masses sticking their heads in the sand. When astronomy grad student Kate Dibiasky and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy discover a comet orbiting within the solar system, they realize it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. Unfortunately, everybody they try to warn about it doesn’t seem to care, including the and her Chief of Staff. With only six months until the comet makes impact, Kate, Randall, and Dr. Oglethorpe take on the 24-hour news cycle and attempt to gain enough recognition on social media to finally get the world to acknowledge the impending doom.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania
We often default to prestige films or adult comedies in this piece, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t add one of the bigger recent streaming releases: The fourth installment in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. In Transformania, Drac, and his monster pals are back in a whole new way … human. Van Helsing’s “Monsterification Ray” goes haywire, turning Drac and the rest of the monsters into humans and Johnny into a monster. But while Johnny’s having the time of his life as a monster, Drac and the crew aren’t so thrilled to be without their monster powers.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild
The Ice Age universe gets a little bigger! When possum brothers Crash and Eddie seek out a new home for a newly independent life, they quickly find themselves trapped beneath the ice in a dinosaur-infested cave. Fortunately, one-eyed weasel Buck Wild comes to their rescue and the trio team up to find a way to save the Lost World from becoming overrun with dinosaurs.
The Lost Daughter
Leda is enjoying a solitary seaside vacation when she soon becomes consumed by the relationship of a young mother and daughter on the beach. Compelled by their relationship and perturbed by the behavior of their extended family, Leda soon becomes overwhelmed with nostalgia and terror, recalling her own days of early motherhood.
