David Ian “Joe” Jackson is an English musician, singer, and songwriter who was born on August 11, 1954. After years of learning music theory and performing in nightclubs, he released his first single, “Is She Really Going Out with Him?” in 1979 and quickly became successful. After that, he released many new wave singles worldwide before switching to pop music with a stronger jazz influence and scoring a top 10 hit with “Steppin’ Out” in 1982.
