I saw the six-part German television series Maxton Hall: The World Between Us last month. When you watch the entire series in one go, you can be sure it's a fantastic show. It currently holds the record for the most-viewed International Original Series ever on Prime Video. The series is based on the best-selling book "Save Me" by Mona Kasten. It's a romance drama. Nowadays, most teenage romances are either sexual or too cliche. Maxton Hall is a bright green flag because it has more depth than most modern romances. It's as refreshing as a breath of fresh air. Though the series depicts more or less an enemy-turned-lover story, something worth mentioning is its Shakespearean storytelling, which adds engaging layers to the story.
I was awestruck by the actors' chemistry, Harriet Herbig and Damian Hardung. Also, they left me excited for the next season, which is unusual for me if it is about TV shows. It's refreshing to see a female lead with a level head and her ambitions even after falling in love and a male lead who doesn't mind displaying his weakness and emotions. I still cherish it now because of the characters, intriguing narrative, and unexpected love. For those who haven’t watched it, the first episode will be available on YouTube upto June 18. Additionally, it is available on Freevee starting from today, June 7.
Bingeworthy Maxton Hall
