Enzo Camacho and Ami Lien: Offerings for Escalante

When & Where: 24 April–29 June 2024, CCA Berlin, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche

This ambitious project by Enzo Camacho and Ami Lien is the culmination of extensive research on the Philippine island of Negros. The exhibition centers around the 1985 massacre in Escalante during Ferdinand Marcos’s military regime. The artists’ experimental film, Langit Lupa (Heaven and Earth, 2023), revisits this tragic event through personal testimonies, sequences of island vegetation, and footage of children at play. The exhibition aims to foster dialogue and question the politics of remembrance through a public programme that includes guided tours, a concert, screenings, and a symposium with artists and collectives from Berlin, Manila, and beyond.
