Since 2006, End of the Road, a boutique festival, has been hosting its annual event in the wooded Larmer Tree Gardens. This year, they held the festival from August 31 to September 3, 2023. The festival has gained renown for its friendly atmosphere, diverse lineup, and creative touches. The festival has a reputation as one of the best festivals in the world, and it has attracted a wide range of music fans, from indie rockers to folk enthusiasts.

Abigail Morris, the singer of The Last Dinner Party, asks the crowd if End of the Road is the best festival in the world. The crowd responds with a loud cheer, suggesting that they agree with her. This comes as no surprise, as End of the Road is renowned for curating high-quality lineups that frequently showcase emerging artists alongside established stars.

The End of the Road festival is a great place to see up-and-coming bands as well as established artists. This year’s festival featured performances by The Last Dinner Party, Be Your Own Pet, Panda Bear, Marie Davidson, Angel Olsen, Wet Leg, Future Islands, Geese, Picture Parlour, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Ezra Furman.

A Diverse and Exciting Lineup at End of the Road Festival

The Last Dinner Party gave a confident and theatrical performance that channeled New Romanticism and ’80s Bowie. Be Your Own Pet played a set of indie sleaze classics and new politicized songs. Panda Bear and Sonic Boom’s audiovisual self-indulgence was tedious, but Marie Davidson’s grinding, nihilistic techno was a breath of fresh air.

Angel Olsen performed her wistful Americana under a full moon. Wet Leg played a secret set to a packed crowd. Future Islands closed out the Woods Stage with an emotionally charged synth-pop set. Geese played a feel-good Southern rock set in the Big Top. Picture Parlour evoked the raw-voiced wailers of the ’70s. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard showed off their fretboard skills on the Woods Stage. Ezra Furman delivered a powerful and resonant performance of “Body Is Made”.

The End of the Road festival is a magical get-together that celebrates music and diversity. It is a festival that everyone should experience at least once.
