This special day has been chosen in honor of the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 “for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitute a threat to peace. 

The International Day of Charity began back in 2012 by the United Nations to recognize all the hard work that many charities and individuals tirelessly do to help others and raise money for those struggling in life.  Spreading awareness and educating the importance of social responsibility across the globe.  To develop support for charitable causes and by bonding communities together in unification.
