Bran Van 3000’s Liquid Ltd charts his journey with new jam – ‘I Walked’

Gritty, urban, surreal, edgy, raw, expressive and with a bit of Banksy thrown right in for that bit of creative touch. That’s just a few ways in which I can describe the music video for Bran’s I Walked. When it comes to Rap and Hip-hop what ultimately makes it sensational is its ability to say it as it is. What Bran has done in this video is superb, full on, unapologetically gritty

The music sounds as though it’s been plucked from yesteryear, when rock and punk were more than just noise whereas the lyrics are from the present and P.C is mentioned as I direct reference. Definitely inhabits the spirit of rock and punk

What’s great about this is the type of outside-the-box thinking in which the mediums of dance and movement are used by actor Michael C Hall as forms of expressionism

Lost in Your Light is like a love letter but for the ears rather than the eyes. The music begins on a gentle note but gradually builds more momentum as it progresses. The accompanying video fits the mood of the track

This latest single June’s Stolen Car about a troubled relationship which lends itself into even greater problems with a dark tale in the mix. This is one of those songs where the more you listen the more sinister you realise the lyrics are. The video captures a performance by Paper KITES to a full house. A nice little reminder of how enjoyable music can be
