Besides athletes, BSPA will also honor sports journalists

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), the largest and oldest organization of sports journalists and writers in the country, has completed 60 years with glory. On this special occasion of the 60th anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) on Friday, December 30, 10 sports personalities will be honored for their success at the national and international levels after independence through a colorful ceremony.

10 athletes in seven disciplines were selected by a 9-member judgment panel. Kazi Salahuddin and late Monem Munna in football, Mashrafe bin Mortuza and Shakib Al Hasan in cricket, the late Shah Alam in athletics, Mosharraf Hossain Khan in swimming, Mosharraf Hossain in boxing, Niaz Morshed in chess, Asif Hossain Khan in shooting and Siddiqur Rahman in golf.

At the same time, 10 sports journalists and writers will be awarded Diamond Jubilee Awards in recognition of their special contribution to sports journalism in the country. They are - Abdul Hamid, Tawfiq Aziz Khan, Badi-uz-Zaman, Muhammad Kamruzzaman, Abdul Tauhid, Ataul Haque Mallik, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Dilu Khandkar, Shahidul Azam and Mustafa Mamun.

A special honor will be given to the former captain of the national cricket team, ASM Rokibul Hasan, who showed infinite bravery by writing the 'Joy Bangla' slogan on the bat on the eve of the great independence war of 1971. BSPA President Sanat Babla, Vice President Kazi Shahidul Alam, and General Secretary Md. Saman Hossain.

After the Chittagong Test draw, Sri Lanka won the series with a lavish victory in Mirpur. Chol Chol Chol (March March March) is the national march song of Bangladesh, whose lyrics and tune were written by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in 1928. It was first published in the newspaper Shikha (Flame) with the title Notuner Gaan (The Song of Youth) and was later included in Nazrul's book Shondha (The Evening). The Bangladeshi government adopted this song as the national marching song of Bangladesh on 13 January 1972 in its first meeting after the country's independence. The first lines of the song are played at most military ceremonies or functions. The Daily Star has referred to it as the national military song.

On the first week of February in 1928, Nazrul came to Dhaka to attend the Muslim Literary Society's second annual conference. He wrote this song at Syed Abul Hossain's Dhaka house.

Scorpion & Chirkutt going to perform at golden jubilee of bangladesh independence.

Famous German band Scorpions & popular bangladeshi band Chirkutt will perform at the world Madison Square Garden in New York City,US on May 6.
Scorpions Announced that on Wednesday on their social platform Breaking the news that the famous band from Bangladesh will accompany them on the historical music celebration.
The event is being organised by the ICT Division with the help of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, the UNDP, the US Embassy in Bangladesh & some local sponsors.
To celebrate Bangladesh 50 years golden anniversary through a historical one night music concert.
The concert will also commemorate the Historic 'Concert for Bangladesh 1971' A charity Concert for bangladesh that was organised by the famous Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison.
In a press conference Lead vocalist of chirkutt 'shumi' said that they are honoured to share the the same stage with scorpion where gorge Harrison performed and made a historic change its a dream come true moment.
The band added that the event will benefit the United Nations Development Programme’s global awareness campaign on cyber security programmes for the youth and children, especially in underdeveloped countries.

Shironamhin, one of the mainstream bands of Bangladesh, has got the opportunity to perform at Pavilion Royal, Paris. The Bangladeshi embassy in Paris has invited the band to perform. The concert is being arranged as a part of the celebration of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh. Many diplomats, as well as many VIP guests, will join the program as guests. Shironamhin will reach the city on 30th March.
Recently they performed at Chattagram on the occasion of Independence Day.

Shironamhin is currently working on their 6th full-length album. Last year the band was supposed to celebrate their Silver Jubilee; however, due to Covid-19, the celebration was postponed. They currently are working on a music video and are planning to release it, soon.
