  • Françoise Gilot
    (26 November 1921 – 6 June 2023)
Françoise Gaime Gilot was a French painter. Gilot was already launched as an accomplished artist when she met Pablo Picasso, notably in watercolors and ceramics, but her professional career was eclipsed by her social celebrity, and when she split from Picasso, he discouraged galleries from buying her work, as well as unsuccessfully trying to block her 1964 memoir, Life with Picasso.
She was an accomplished painter whose art was eclipsed by her long and stormy romantic relationship with a much older Pablo Picasso, and who alone among his many mistresses walked out on him, died on Tuesday at a hospital in Manhattan. She was 101.
The death was confirmed by her daughter Aurelia Engel, who said Ms. Gilot had recently been dealing with heart and lung ailments.

  • Chittagong Challengers to trust in 'impact players' in BPL 2023

Chittagong Challengers displayed great aptitude with an average team in the previous BPL. This time too they did not run toward well-known superstars. However, there are some players in the battalion of Chittagong Challengers who can satisfy the demands of T20.

Chittagong retained Afif Hossain in a direct agreement. This regular face of the Bangladesh national T20I squad is also a reliable name for the Chittagong team. A glimpse of Afif was seen in vital matches in the last season. Afif does not get the chance to bat in the national team a lot but he can perform at the top orders in BPL.

Chittagong obtained Lankan pacer Vishwa Fernando, off-spinning all-rounder Ashan Priyanjan and Ireland's Curtis Campher on direct contracts. In the meantime, Campher has shown glances of itself in the last World Cup. His batting with a medium pace can be the biggest investment of the team.

Chittagong did not look at local big stars after getting the chance from the draft. The first two they picked, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury, have not been on the national team.

Shuvagata, who earlier played in the national team, is a routine player in domestic cricket as an off-spinning all-rounder. This right-hander can storm the lower middle order. His off-spin is very useful in Bangladeshi conditions.

Although he could not drive it to the national team, Mrittunjoy has already introduced himself. He delivered it in the last BPL by showing the capability of death bowling by making a hat-trick. This left-hander is also very intelligent with the bat.

Chittagong has brought Max O'Dowd of the Netherlands in the opening thought. He has played great in the World Cup. However, there is a huge distinction in the character of Australia's wicket and Bangladesh's wicket. Let's wait and see how he does on the slow wicket. Chittagong has also taken the Unmukt Chand who took the citizenship of the United States. Chand understood the conditions of Asia rather well. Taufiq Khan Tushar is an option among the locals in this place. He came into the discussion by batting fiercely in first-class cricket for the Sylhet division.

Taijul Islam is the reliability of the team in the spin. Although, Taijul is still not strong in T20I cricket. So, there is a challenge ahead of him. They have retained professional domestic cricket all-rounders like Farhad Reza and Ziaur Rahman. There is wicket-keeper batsman Irfan Sukkur. They can make a difference in their day.

The pace battery is not very sharp, to say the least. Mrittunjoy will be accompanied by another left-handed pacer Mehdi Hasan Rana. There is also right-handed pacer Abu Jayed Rahi but he has not been in shape recently. Even if Rana gets a wicket, he is often not much economical. It remains to be seen how much the bowling deficit will concern the unit.

Chittagong Challengers will face Sylhet Strikers in the first match of BPL on January 6, 2023.

    Chittagong Challengers Team

Direct contracts: Afif Hossain, Vishwa Fernando (Sri Lanka), Ashan Priyanjan (Sri Lanka), Curtis Campher (Ireland), Darwish Rasooli (Afghanistan).

Locals from Draft: Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury, Mehedi Hasan Rana, Irfan Shukkur, Mehedi Maruf, Ziaur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Abu Jayed Rahi, Farhad Reza, Taufiq Khan Tushar.

Foreigners from the draft: Max O'Dowd (Netherlands), Unmukt Chand (India/USA).

  • 𝗞𝗞: 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 '𝟵𝟬𝘀

Krishnakumar Kunnath, affectionately known around the world by his stage name KK, was a universal singer with romantic songs as his forte. The untimely news of KK's death has devastated millions of fans, especially those who grew up listening to his songs in the '90s.

In a career that spanned two decades, KK delivered some memorable hits. His soulful voice captured the nation's imagination when he released his debut album Pal in 1999. Since then, KK has gone from strength to strength and made his mark on Bollywood with hits. While it's impossible, to sum up such a remarkable career in just a few tracks, here's a look at some KK songs that will help you relive KK's romantic voice.

    1. Aankhon Mein Teri from Om Shaanti Om- If we had to pick the best Bollywood songs of the new millennium, this tune from the 2007 film would surely top the list. The song featured KK's voice-filled romance in every note.

    2. Pyar Ke Pal- This heartwarming has the power to make you cry. The lyrics of the songs tell the emotions we are all going through right now. KK may be gone, but his songs and legacy will live in our hearts forever.

    3. Yaaron- The definitive anthem about friendship. KK's seductive voice and sweet melody made it one of the most iconic songs of the '90s generation. It was one of the last songs he played at his last concert in Kolkata.

    4. zara sa from Jannat- It is a romantic song. The song was voiced by KK and directed by Pritam Chakraborty. It was released in 2008.

    5. Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai- This song is from the movie "Wo Lamhe" which makes you want to fall in love with the song immediately. The way it brings passion and spirit to it and Pritom's songwriting makes it a great song to listen to.

Hello, Marvel fans. In my last article, you must have read about the Egyptian god “Khonshu”. It was never a secret that Moon Knight would focus quite heavily on Egyptian mythology. However, episode 3 of Moon Knight indicated that there are more Egyptian gods involved in the series, especially when you believe that almost all of them have avatars on Earth. As such, we are here to look at the next Egyptian god “Ammit” that has been featured in Moon Knight so far.

Ammit is the second Egyptian god introduced in the Moon Knight series, as she was mentioned as early as the first episode. In episode 1, Arthur Harrow was introduced as the avatar of Ammit. He used Ammit’s powers to form an entire devotees that worshipped the goddess.

Ammit was perceived as the representation of balance and divine order (similar to Khonshu) and thus was often represented sitting beside the scales of Ma’at (which translates to ‘truth’) in the Underworld. However, unlike Khonshu, Ammit had negative purposes, mainly. While Ammit takes the form of the sphinx named Ammut in the Marvel comics, Ammit in Egyptian mythology is a goddess/beast that’s associated with death. Her responsibility is to eat the hearts of people who were judged to be impure at the time of their deaths so that they will never be given a chance to live again. It could be possible that her goals in Moon Knight are in line with the same kind of mentality.

So it's all for today. See you in my next article with a new character from Egyptian mythology in the Moon Knight series.
