Since horror is a difficult genre to master, there are a few Bangladeshi horror films that may appeal to audiences. Among them, 'Moshari' is proudly abiding its award while also boosting the film industry as a whole. The film was also chosen for the 'Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes' and the Fantastic 7 section of the 'SITGES Festival International de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya'.

In March of this year, 'Moshari' made its global premiere at the SXSW Film Festival 2022. Recently at the Atlanta Film Festival (ALTFF) 2022, Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun's horror short film 'Moshari' won the Jury Award for Best Narrative Short. In all three short film categories, the ATLFF qualifies for the Academy Awards.

'Moshari' is a traditional South Asian mosquito net, made for protection against swine at night. When the world is overrun with bloodthirsty creatures, the last of mankind persist in Dhaka, Bangladesh by spending their nights inside the moshari - the only known shelter from the unknown threat. Two sisters, Apu and Ayra, played by ‘No Dorai’ actor Sunerah Binte Kamal and Nuhash Humayun’s niece Nairah Onora Saif, must navigate this strange new world to survive. However, their strained relationship is becoming as much of a threat as the dangers outside. One night, when Ayra’s curiosity lures her outside the safety of the moshari, Apu must rise to the occasion - as they face their demons, together,” reads the official synopsis.

  • Anderson’s untitled film is ready to screening for a holiday 2021

Soggy Bottom which is still an official name will first feature film since 2017’s Phantom Thread. The movie, Anderson’s latest directorial effort after 2017’s “Phantom Thread,” will open in limited release on Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving weekend) and expand nationwide on Christmas Day.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Bradley Cooper, Benny Safdie, Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman, son of the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman — Anderson’s frequent collaborator. The film marks the young actor’s feature debut.

Anderson wrote the script and produced the film with Sarah Murphy. The project was backed by MGM, in association with Born Creative and Anderson’s Film Company.

The untitled project marks the celebrated filmmaker’s ninth feature, following “Hard Eight,” “Boogie Nights” (the director’s breakthrough project, also set in the 1970s San Fernando Valley), “Magnolia,” “Punch-Drunk Love,” “There Will Be Blood,” “The Master,” “Inherent Vice” and “Phantom Thread.”
The 2017 drama, starring Daniel Day Lewis, Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville, earned Anderson his third best director Oscar nomination, as well as a Best Picture nod. Anderson has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including screenplay nods for “Boogie Nights,” “Magnolia,” “There Will Be Blood” and “Inherent Vice.”
