Nora Fatehi, a Bollywood artist, was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka in mid-December to participate in an award ceremony, but her visit has been canceled after the cultural affairs ministry denied her permission. Due to the currency crisis, the ministry has ceased bringing in any foreign artists to perform in the country.
