The role
The Business Development Managers primary role will be someone who has experience calling all types of businesses from a small one man band to a large multi-national company, with the objective of showing companies how they can promote their company and services through our established and well received printed guides and digital media platforms; such as web banners,
news letters, face book, twitter and Instagram.
They will lead on a diverse range of projects for the Business Development Department including those supporting the international expansion.
The role will be dynamic, managing existing projects, delivering innovation projects from other teams and bringing their own ideas to life.
There will be a strong focus on reporting, delivering income targets, analysing data and trends, as well as developing excellent external relationships.
A key element of the role will be to develop the existing Partnerships function including, designing and influencing its future strategic direction via strategies and horizon scanning, bringing on board new and exciting partners that deliver added value to our stakeholders and taking a thorough, creative, and collaborative approach to how we work internally.
The successful candidate will have significant business development experience ideally within the business sector, a proven track record of delivering income targets, solid project management experience and a good understanding of sales and marketing theories.
As Development Manager you must have:
Be target driven and self motivated.
Experienced in calling companies in the UK & USA.
Able to identify and develop new opportunities from sourced leads, promoting WhatsOn Agency, Media, & Projects.
Work efficiently and effectively unsupervised at times but given direction.
Have a good clear spoken command of the English language as clients you contact may reside in the UK or USA.
Have the ability to gain interest and advise then close deals over the telephone or face to face.
Have the ability to Develop business in various marketplaces.
Work consciously daily towards and hitting your monthly targets.
Identify potential partnerships.
Be skilled and getting through to the decision maker within any organisation.
Have the ability to pickup and learn our companies product knowledge quickly.
Support officers working across other teams.
Understand various closing techniques.
