England starts the World Cup campaign in style!

England's FIFA World Cup crusade started in a convincing fashion as they defeated Iran 6-2 in Doha. Gareth Southgate's flank easily bagged the victory, leaving the Iranian side hopeless.

In the very beginning, Iran lost their main goal keeper Alireza Beiranvand in an unfortunate event of his clash of heads with team mate Majid Hosseini associated with an injury.

England started the journey with a goal from Jude Bellingham's header, assisted by Luke Shaw's cross. Later on, in the first half, Bukayo Saka's precise strike and Raheem Sterling's elegant volley made it 3-0.

Saka did not stop there, he scored his second and England's fourth goal in the game. But before that, Iran delighted by scoring their first in the match - Mehdi Taremi scored a fine goal after 65 minutes.

England substitute Marcus Rashford joined the show netting another silky touch with his first involvement. It was then served by Jack Grealish slotting, making it 6-1.

Iran scored their second from a spot kick, Taremi netted in a penalty after a foul by John Stones. Thus, the final score is 6-2, a game of eight goals!
