A chest strap HR monitor works by detecting electrical signals from your heart. When your heart beats, it creates an electric pulse. The monitor picks up these signals through electrodes on the strap and sends them to a connected device, like your smartphone or watch. The chest strap is worn tightly around your chest, just under your chest muscles. When it detects the signals, it sends them through Bluetooth or ANT+ technology to apps or devices that show your heart rate in real time.
