St. Patrick's Day/Sheikh Mujiber Rahman's Birthday
On Friday, 17th March, people in Bangladesh will be remembering the birth of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of their nation. In Northern Ireland, in the Irish Republic and in many places throughout the world, there will be celebrations of Patrick, the Patron Saint of the island of Ireland. As a Northern Irishman myself, I will be enjoying these celebrations and I will also be thinking of my friends in Banglasdesh on their special day.
