I was sorry to hear of the passing of Phil Read. It was his dice with the late Bill Ivy in the 250 c.c. class at the Ulster Grand Prix in 1968 that gave this then 7 year old the bug for motorcycle racing and all forms of motorsport. Later in life, I was privileged to get to know Phil personally (he always referred to me as "The Pastor") and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
