US drone strike has struck down upon the leader of al-Qaida Ayman al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan as announced by Joe Biden. The US president described the death of Zawahiri, who was successor after Osama bin Laden as a major blow to the terrorist chain.

al-Qaida have been associated with heinous attack of 9/11 in 2001, Twin Tower which killed many people and devasted, and destroyed the country from its roots. Biden has said, “justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more”. This strike is seen as the proof of the US’s ability to conduct “over the horizon” operations despite year’s military withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Zawahiri was one of the most wanted men, and had moved to safe house in Kabul, where the strike has taken place. Biden was personally involved in the high planned and confidential meetings to plan the strike. The president ordered ariel strike on the safe house on 25 July. His orders were carried out at 9:48pm ET on Saturday, while Zawahiri was still on his balcony. Officials have cleared that none of his family members have been targeted and they are unharmed.

Biden has been praised for his heroic decision to mark down one of the powerful terrorist of all time. Barack Obama said on Monday night that successful attacks are tribute to Biden’s leadership. Terrorism is one of the highest form of crime offense against civilians, though it is consider as an act of armed revolution but civilians with no guilt are harmed and killed. This strike is a sign that justice exists and humanity is still not dead in human beings.
