Thousands for children have been impacted due to the cost-of-living crisis. Children have received their gifts and food from charities for their Eid al-Adha.

As Karl Marx had said, ” specter looms large over Europe, the specter of Capitalism”. Capitalism has created a society of inequality and this disbalance makes people suffer. The cost-of-living crisis in UK is grappling everything and children have become the sufferers of this crisis. The Islamic Relief UK and seven other partners came up with the scheme of distributing essentials and food, including meat. Children received gifts of euro10 per child, including toys and games which were distributed to 3000 children.

During the Eid al-Adha, which is a festivity which lasts for three-days, Muslims donate sacrificial meat to needy people. Also they encourage to share food with the neighbours and communities. The cost-of-living crisis have impacted the economy and as well as lives of people. The grocery-prices have skyrocketed, which is creating a huge pressure on the stretched budgets of the people. Islamic Relief UK director Tufail Hussain commented; “the distribution provide a helping hand to families and the Eid gifts are an additional way to put a smile on faces on the children who have been impacted during the festive occasion”. The cost-of-living crisis have become worst day by day. The Ukraine and Russia is acting as the fire spreader for the global food crisis and also surge in essential commodities.

The specter of economic collapse is haunting the world. In response to these cuts to living standards, protests have been called by number of trade unions. The cost-of-living is a direct product of capitalism, which is an anarchic system based only on profit. As long as the economy is run according to the blink market policies, the inflation will wield into the system. Which will rampant, further decimating living standards. Therefore a socialistic approach needs to be taken for democratically planning the production to meet all the needs.
