US President Joe Biden’s Summit of the Americas has been tagged as “neoliberal failure”. Many of the regional leaders have refused to attend the summit over his exclusion of the socialist countries. Marx always thought socialism as a “society which permits the actualization of man’s essence, by overcoming alienation”. But capitalist have always alienated and outcasted the socialist countries. They show greater despise in actually recognizing them. Biden has showcased the truest ideological difference by excluding the ‘socialist’ countries.

Some junior government officials have been send to attend the summit. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, has snubbed the gathering. That is in solidarity with those banned countries from attending the summit. The Mexican President commented that, ” there can’t be a Summit if all the countries of the continent don’t participate”.The event is already a failure if that isolates and disconnects the US from the America.

The Cuban government charged Biden with using exclusion, “what our region demand is cooperation, not exclusion; solidarity, not meanness; respect, not arrogance; sovereignty and self-determination, not subordination”.

Critics have criticized Mr. Biden for banning progressive governments. While rolling out the red carpet fascists, highlighting the invitation to Brazil’s far-right President Jair Bolsonaro. Biden has been condemned of hypocrisy for excluding the democratically elected leaders of the three countries. And the same time planning to visit Saudi Arabia.

The exclusion from Summit is the clear signal what America represents. The American government has always encouraged the far-rightist ideology yet wearing the mask of democracy and liberalism. But this act has removed the mask and made the country face the naked truth about America and its ideology. It is clear that governments and world institutions will only move when the people make them move.
