UK government has decided to rewrite the rules in the Human Rights Act. This was indicated in the speech made by Queen. The pledge to introduce a new Bill of rights. This means that Human Rights Act would be scrapped.

Human Rights are given by the government to safeguard the interests of human beings from the atrocity of the government. If human rights are not been given to humans then government can mold the laws in which ever way they like. Even the laws have been codified for the same reasons. But every government attacks the freedom of humans and their rights to break them. America and Britain two examples of the developed country have attacked the human liberty and freedom. This is done by the ruling class to make people realize the power dialectics.

The Government of UK has confirmed the plans to launch a major overhaul of human rights law in Britain despite warnings. Many groups such as the Liberty, Amnesty and the British Institute of Human Rights have warned PM Boris Johnson. They claim that repealing the Act would mean to undermine the global system of rights and protections.

The scrapping of the law is the systematic “gutting ” to the key protections of the people. This would also mean that ordinary people will face challenges to report mistreatment at the hands of the state. The state will invariably gain power and also the protection from the law to mistreat people.

Human Rights Act includes, bereaved relatives of Covid, women challenging prosecution of rape, activists fighting for abortion services. If the law is overhauled then all this have no meaning left and government can do whatever they wish to do. The speech argues that the Bill of rights will “end the abuse of the human rights framework and restore justice to system”.

This is blatant, unashamed power grab of the government. The rules are in favor of the ruling class so that law cannot touch them even after their injustice. Human Rights Act also safeguards the minorities and black community in Britain. Now this new Bill will become the tool of exploitation in the hands of the ruling class. America by scrapping abortion law blew the women choice freedom. And Britain with this new Bill blew off the freedom and liberty of ordinary people.
