For anyone who has never experienced the sport of Arenacross, a treat is in store on the 2025 tour, which is visiting various cities in the United Kingdom. Arenacross is basically fast and exciting indoor motocross, with riders of various ages and levels of experience competing on a short and twisting track, with several humps and jumps along the way. My wife and I were privileged to be able to attend the opening round of the tour in Birmingham and enjoyed a thrilling evening of racing, along with displays of freestyle motocross that had the heart in the mouth just watching. As my wife is a wheelchair user, we were seated in the accessible area, close to the track and were able to get the best of the sights and sounds, along with the occasional spattering of mud.
This was a great way to spend a Saturday evening. Atmospheric and guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. We reserved our loudest cheers for our fellow countryman, Martin Barr (we are from Northern Ireland), but unfortunately, he didn't win. Nonetheless, congratulations to all involved for some wonderful sport. Please check out the tour dates and venues and give this a try. Many thanks to Aimee and Ian for organising our visit and we are already looking forward to 2026.
