Award-winning theatre company Windmill Young Actors will perform an exciting new production of Pandora on Sunday, 30th of May at Brighton Open Air Theatre. It’s supported with funds from the Government’s Cultural Recovery Fund.
Windmill Young Actors are a local company of young actors and performers who have enjoyed the success of many sell-outs runs at Brighton Fringe Festival, and have won awards and received numerous 5-star reviews for their hard-hitting and imaginative performances, including the 2017 Brighton Fringe Outstanding Theatre Award with their performance of Agamemnon.
The youth theatre group holds weekly drama clubs across Brighton & Hove for all ages between 5 and 21 and has staged performances of ‘Macbeth’, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Agamemnon’ and political dramas ‘About a Revolution’ and ‘Losing It’.
Windmill Young Actors are led by professional theatre director Tanushka Marah (previous Winner of The Young Vic Young Director Awards), who currently also works with the Royal Shakespeare Company. The project is funded by The Arts Council England and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s £1.57 billion Cultural Recovery Fund.
Tanuska Marah, the Director, said: “ We are really grateful for these funds which have given Windmill Young Actors the opportunity to provide young people aged 12- 23 with the opportunity to work with world-class industry professionals to create this an exciting new piece of theatre for the public.”
