The event took place on April 3 at night in Las Vegas though it was previously postponed due to the Covid situation. The pre-telecast ceremony was broadcast on The Grammy website and YouTube channel. Jon Batiste, Silk Sonic, Olivia Rodrigo, and more got multiple wins.
The early winner of Best Melodic Rap Performance for ‘Hurricane’ and Best Rap Song for ‘Jail’ was Kanya West. Best Rap Album for ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ was Tyler, The Creator. The best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Drivers License’ was Olivia Rodrigo.
The main ceremony began at 8 pm EST and handed the biggest trophies of the night. The award was given for the best Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist. Jon Batiste got nominations with eleven nods and Justin Bieber got on eight. Billie Eilish, Rodrigo, and Doja Cat all had got seven nominations for each.
Jon Batiste was the maximum award winner of the night. He got the Album Of The Year award for ‘We Are’ including four other awards. Silk Sonic won four awards for the song ‘Leave The Door Open’. Rodrigo won three awards including Best New Artist. Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, and Kanye West won two awards.
All the winners banged on the stage with their master performances. Eilish performed on the stage ‘Happier Than Ever’ wearing a t-shirt of Taylor Hawkins. Rodrigo played her throwback version track ‘Driver License’ and Lady Gaga paid a tribute to Bennett. BTS presented a stunning performance of their song named ‘Butter’. On the other hand, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow linked up and performed for ‘Industry Baby’.
