The month of April will bring a variety of films and some highly anticipated titles that have been repeatedly delayed due to the deadly Coronavirus wave around the globe. Pushpita Karim Writes.

As March draws to a close, we’re gearing up for April with the best new releases to keep our weekends packed.

Morbius

Sony’s Morbius is finally set to release in theaters after a series of delays this Friday 1st April. Doctor Morbius, who is critically ill with a rare blood disease and is determined to help others who are in the same situation as him, takes a desperate gamble. After what initially appeared to be a spectacular success, a shadow within him is unleashed, transforming this healer into a hunter. Director Daniel Espinosa’s film introduces audiences to Jared Leto’s enigmatic antihero, Dr. Michael Morbius, based on the bloodsucking Marvel Comics character created by Roy Thomas.

Attack

Attack, directed by Lakshya Raj Anand and starring John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakul Preet Singh, will be released in theaters on 1 April.  According to the trailer, Abraham is a member of the armed forces who combats terrorists using their power. The action thriller film was scheduled to be released on 26 January of this year, but it was pushed back due to the pandemic.

The Bubble

Netflix is set to release The Bubble on April 1. It will be Apatow’s first film not produced by Universal in over 15 years, and his first film with Netflix. The film, directed by Judd Apatow, follows a group of actors who become trapped inside a pandemic bubble while filming a movie in a hotel. Cliff Beasts 6: The Battle for Everest: Memories of a Requiem is a film within the actual film that revolves around a team that reunites after five years to battle dinosaurs. The film will star Karen Gillan, Iris Apatow, Pedro Pascal, Leslie Mann, Fred Armisen, and many more.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega’s iconic video game franchise, returns with its second past as a superhero comedy film, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, after its first installment was a box office success in 2020. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler, with writers Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington returning from the first installment, as well as other familiar faces.

Ambulance

An ambulance is the latest film from director-producer Michael Bay, gives us a sneak peek at the upcoming thriller, which will be released on April 8. The movie Ambulance is based on Laurits Munch-2005 Petersen’s Danish film Ambulance, which was directed and written by Lars Andreas Pedersen. Michael Bay directed and produced the film. Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Ian Bryce also contribute to the production.
