Peter Mooney (known professionally as Pete St. John).
31st January 1932-12th March 2022.
One of Ireland's greatest ever songwriters. Composer of "The Ferryman," Danny Farrell," "The Rare Oul' Times" and many other songs. Best known for "The Fields Of Athenry." A major influence on my own songwriting. His songs have been recorded by many artists in both parts of Ireland and throughout the world. A great social commentator through his work. Prayers and condolences with his family and friends.
