As a resident of the Walsall area, I am always keen to support the arts locally and I have to say that the Walsall Operatic Society's production of Sister Act at Lichfield Garrick was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. From start to finish, it captured the essence of the story and combined excellent singing with acting which combined the humorous with the serious.

There were many fine performances, both solo and choral, but special mention must be made of Montana Mayo, as Deloris Van Cartier, appearing for the first time as part of Walsall Operatic. From start to finish, she made the role her own and brought together amazing singing with the bright and sassy character of Deloris. Another performance which was particularly enjoyable me was by Vicki Hardy, in the role of Mother Superior. As someone who is actively involved in Church ministry, as well as  media, it was entertaining to see the contrast between the life of the convent and the normal lifestyle of Deloris and how the two are brought together.

My wife and I had a great evening at the show and we are already looking forward to what will follow in 2025. Well done to Walsall Operatic and many thanks to Sam for organising our tickets for us.
