Flox – Smoke Grass
A great track with a nod back to Reggie and some of the culture surrounding it, and of course with lyrics that talk about weed and youth. Grass has a steady drumbeat that goes into a composed rhythm with an additional bass giving it. This is a song that you could just listen to on a loop and still find it cheery in its rhythm. Now what’s clever about the song is that even though smoking weed is referenced frequently it’s not actually about that. If you listen carefully, it’s about maintaining your individuality and privacy whilst also standing your ground both politically and philosophically.

Jessica Wilde – Head in the Roses
An amazing soulful R&B number with some soul and bass throughout, and as you’d expect Jessica’s voice is soft and whispers to you whilst carrying softly spoken emotion. When you listen to the music it’s a combination of both singing and spoken word which in itself is genius. Not heard something that good since Ian Dury. Now as you’d expect with Wilde, she’s not one to hold back on reality and tells it how it is unapologetically. Head in the Roses talks about drug addiction to escape reality whilst also being in denial of the problem, roses being a metaphor for one’s head being in the clouds

Kety Fusco – Music to Make a Dream Come True (soundtrack)
For a track that is under 4 minutes long and is instrumental all the way through it’s actually a somewhat creative gem in itself. As far as musical veins go it’s in a similar one to Nordic Giants but also up there with Kate Bush in regards to originality. It’s haunting and captivating at the same time

Konkrete – Satellite remix
A remixed version of The Kut single, Satellite, and as far as remixes go it’s actually not bad. It takes an original song and takes it in an alternative direction. Now seeing as the Kut’s was more rock Konkrete has done something rather interesting and given it another lease of life, quite clever actually. Bearing in mind remixes can be hard work in themselves but it does look like Konkrete’s done a good job of it.
