As regular attenders at the Horse Of The Year Show, my wife and I were looking forward very much to our visit to the British Championships. Held in the open air at Stoneleigh, they have a great location, with various arenas for competition and plenty of opportunities to enjoy retail and food while appreciating the event. 

We visited on the Thursday and it was interesting to see the intense but sporting competition and especially, the opportunity to gain a place at HOYS, surely the doyen of this type of equestrian sport in the U.K. Unfortunately, the weather on the day was unfavourable for both competitors and spectators and for reasons of my wife's health, we had to leave early. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the experience and we look forward to returning next year.  Mnay thanks to Helena at Grandstand Media for organising our visit and if anyone is looking for an enjoyable few days of equine sport, this event is well worth attending.
