  • A warning of war was made by President Biden on Tuesday that Russian President Putin was preparing for a “massive military attack” on Ukraine.
  • President Joe Biden said, ‘This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, as he indicated and asked permission to be able to do from his Duma. … Russia has moved supplies of blood and medical equipment into position on their border. You don’t need blood unless you plan on starting a war.’
  • The sanctions made by the US on Russia will be imposed on its financial institutions, sovereign debt, and Russian elites. The other nations who implemented sanctions over Russia, including the UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, and the European Union have also announced some penalties.
  • According to Biden, the U.S. has “no intention of fighting Russia” though has announced it will be sending more troops and arms to Baltic countries, including F-35 fighter jets and Apache helicopters.
  • Ukraine has called a nationwide state of emergency and told its citizens residing in Russia to leave “immediately.”
  • Earlier this week, President Volodymyr Zelensky had said, Ukraine will not commit any territory to Russia and also called for further ramp up to its allies to pressure against the Russian government but he also wanted to negotiate.
  • In justification of the separatist regions and deployment of Russian troops to them, Mr. Putin said, to prevent any Ukrainian assault which could result in an extreme massacre of the regions’ ethnic Russians, local leaders had appealed to him to prevent so he did.

About the latest update of Donbass, The Organization for Security & Co-operation in Europe has delivered some information as they have monitors on the ground in there. It said that the monitoring had recorded 703 ceasefire violations the previous day in Donetsk and 1,224 ceasefire violations in Lugansk, with violations from both sides.
