Overnight, there has been a flurry of social media messages from artists and labels criticising HitPiece, a music NFTs website that appears to be advertising non-fungible tokens tied to all types of music without the authorization of the artists or labels that created and published that music. On Twitter, the band Eve 6 was among many who screamed about it all, issuing the standard legal demand.

It's unclear exactly what HitPiece is offering, and the company's website has been down since the uproar erupted on social media. However, the official pitch is that individuals may buy "one of one NFTs of all your favourite songs — own a song, make your own playlist, and join an artist's community" by purchasing "one of one NFTs of all your favourite songs."

We will soon require a separate post to cover all of the pending NFT-related lawsuits.
