The Mission: Impossible franchise’s next 2 films are being backed one by one. After the seventh one was delayed now the eighth one which was also filmed concurrently with the seventh has been pushed back.
- This time the release date of Mission: Impossible is postponed again due to continuing concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The new release date has been announced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance that the movie will come out now on July 14, 2023. The decision was taken as COVID continued to impact production in the media industry. And the eighth film of the franchise, which was also being filmed with the seventh, will not come out until July 28, 2024, which is a year later than most recently suggested.
- ‘After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic,’ the studios said.
- ‘We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience’, they added.
- The film is starring Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell. They were seen filming the seventh release of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ film last year, in Yorkshire. Tom Cruise has been filming the new film throughout the whole UK.
- Throughout the filming session recently Tom’s bodyguard had his car stolen in Birmingham, which was worth thousands of pounds.
- Cruise explained his journey of filming the movie during the pandemic last year. It was his immense contribution to make it happen and keep the filming running.
- Interestingly Tom Cruise, the actor who is also the producer of the movie, talked about the protocols to put up with the safety measurements while shooting.
- Tom explained, ‘I’ve produced 30 to 40 movies. I am responsible for thousands, if not tens of thousands, of jobs.’
- ‘All my friends in the industry, people that are in distribution, and my crew were like, ‘What are we going to do? I could lose my house!’ So, I told the studio and I told the industry, ‘We’re going back. We’re going to get everyone back to work. We’re going to start shooting in the summer. And we’re going to figure out how to do it safely.’
In 2021 ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ was pushed back to September 30, 2022, four months later of its original slated release on May 27, 2022. But before that, the original date set for release was on July 2021.
