Major Scales for Beginners
- Major scales are like musical building blocks for guitar. They help you create melodies and understand chords.
- Start with C major! No sharps or flats make it easy to learn the fretboard.
- Use the “whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step” pattern to move between notes.
- D major has one black key (F#). Play it on the 1st fret of the B string.
- C# major (also Db major) has seven black keys! It’s trickier for beginners. Try C major first.
