The easiest recipe for your favorite breakfast item is here. Chili cheese toast is an easy bread toast recipe that can be prepared in just 5 minutes and with only a few ingredients. Also, great when served with a delicious marmalade. The recipe will take prep time 5 minutes and cooking time 5 minutes, so in total 10 minutes only.

This week CafeOn brings you this easy and simple 5-minute recipe of Chili Cheese Toast and Red Onion Marmalade to make at home.

Ingredients

  • Bread, 4 slices 
  • Butter, 2 tbsp (Softened)
  • Garlic cloves, 2 (Finely chopped)
  • Medium Green Chili, 1 (Finely chopped)
  • Mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup 
  • Chili flakes, 1/2 tsp 

Method

  • Add the finely chopped garlic cloves and the green Chili to the softened butter at first. Adjust the chili amount according to your taste.
  • Mix well with butter.
  • Layer up the bread slices with the butter mix on both sides and spread evenly.
  • Then add cheese to the buttered bread slices making sure the bread slices are covered with cheese properly.
  • Now sprinkle some Chili flakes on top, how you like it.
  • Bake at 200℃ preheated ovens for about 5 minutes or until they become crispy.
  • If you want to make the toasts on a stove, place a heavy-bottomed pan on a low flame and place the bread slices in the pan. Then cover and cook for about 5 minutes or until the cheese melts. By this time the slices of bread will also get toast altogether.
  • Take them out of the oven/pan when done.
  • Now serve immediately and enjoy perfectly toasted Chili cheese bread!

Red Onion Marmalade

Red Onion Marmalade, a great fusion to serve with the Chili Cheese Toast. It is quite an easy recipe to follow and make at home. Marmalade can be served in so many different ways – perfect with grilled steak, chicken, or even as an appetizer with crackers.

Ingredients

  • Olive oil, 2 tbsp
  • Red onion, 8 cups (thinly sliced)
  • Fresh thyme leaves, 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf, 1
  • Sea salt, ¾ tsp
  • Garlic cloves, 3 (minced)
  • Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 cup (or other dry red wine)
  • Brown sugar, ¼ cup (packed)
  • Balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper, ¼ teaspoon (freshly ground)

Method

  • Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet on medium heat.
  • Now add onion, thyme, and bay leaf, then cover and cook 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in salt and garlic; cook, uncovered, 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in wine, brown sugar, and vinegar and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; simmer 12 minutes or until liquid almost evaporates and becomes syrupy.
  • Remove from heat; stir in pepper. Cool to room temperature. Discard bay leaf.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
